Highlands called the roof of Africa
The Ethiopian Highlands dominate the centre of the country and are sometimes called the roof of Africa. Addis Ababa also sits high above sea level, giving it a cooler climate than tropical latitude suggests. Deep valleys divide the plateau and influence farms, towns and roads.
